Plan for your NetSuite release

Connect each release change to an owner, a workflow and a practical test. Your account’s upgrade date sets the schedule for preparation.

Build a reading list around your account

Start by listing the modules, SuiteApps, customizations and external connections in use. Assign relevant sections to the people who understand those workflows. Finance may review banking, accounting and reporting; operations may review inventory and orders; your technical team may review authentication, SuiteScript and APIs.

Give reviewers a specific question: what could this change in our day-to-day work? Ask for the affected process and an action, rather than a summary of every feature in the document.

Choose the right official document

Official documentHow to use it
Scheduled release notes

The main 2026.2 notes describe the version upgrade. Read the availability conditions before assuming a documented feature is included, enabled or ready in your account.

Monthly additions

The monthly minor-release index identifies enhancements delivered between major versions. At this review, it includes August and September 2026.2 sections.

Documentation revisions

The Help Center’s weekly update log identifies edited release notes and help topics. It is useful when an earlier review needs to be refreshed without rereading the entire documentation set.

Turn a note into a decision

  1. 01

    Identify the affected capability

Record the release, feature and affected workflow so each owner knows what to review and test.

  2. 02

    Describe the local dependency

Identify the report, integration, role, script or process that may be affected. An entry that is irrelevant to your configuration can be closed with a short reason.

  3. 03

    Select evidence

Decide whether to review configuration, ask an application supplier, run a test or schedule adoption. Define the expected result before testing begins.

  4. 04

    Close the loop

Attach the result to the review item and have the responsible owner accept it. Keep unresolved questions visible with a next action and a person responsible.

A release note is not an entitlement list

Oracle cautions that features and SuiteApps can depend on the customer contract and may require additional purchase. Confirm the commercial and configuration requirements for a feature before building it into an operating plan.

Resolve conflicting official guidance

What if two official pages disagree?

Record both sources and the exact question. Seek clarification before making a deadline-sensitive change; do not quietly select the date that is more convenient.
